More Details on why 271?

We wanted to give a long form answer to the why 271 for our clients who are interested. We’re so thankful you're here and always excited to chat with you about our shroomie passion.

We make mushroom tinctures because we like to make mushroom tinctures. We have no plans to quit our day jobs in the near future, so we can supply 271 customers in a month while still keeping our jobs and maintaining the fun we have making hand-crafted tinctures.

A lot of math has gone into making the tinctures. Let's start with how we started using a Soxhlet extractor. We put exactly 25 grams of dried mushrooms into the extractor with 200 milliliters of solvent for 6 hours. We then remove the mushrooms and cook them in 800 milliliters of water at 160 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 hours. We mix 750 milliliters of tea (not 800 because of evaporation) with the 200 milliliters of alcohol extractions and get 950 millileters of dual extraction, which equals ~15.8 tincture bottles. To fill, label, cap, and package the bottles after the extraction is made was also measured and we can have 271 customers a month.

We offer 2 things that other companies do not:
1. We do not make the same profit margins as other companies. We add many mushrooms into a little bit of extraction and only use organic, locally sourced (when available) materials. We would rather make friends than profits.
2. Every single bottle is handmade in LaGrange Gerogia. We touch every single process and ensure the best of everything is being used to make the most beneficial extractions. We are not driven by profit margins because making these tinctures is a hobby we enjoy that allows us to basically not pay ourselves much money. We want to consider Conscious Mycology as an exclusive club that shares its benefits with like-minded chill people who want to make the world a better place.
